Dr. Reiner Götzen is the founder and chief executive of microTEC since 1996. After graduating from high school he joined Thyssen-Krupp Duisburg, Germany, as a trainee in precision mechanics. On completion of his training he worked for Robot Foto and Electronic in Düsseldorf Germany. In 1990 he graduated from the Gerhard Mercator University of Duisburg with a Dipl. Ing. in electrical engineering, specialized in electronics and precision engineering. After finishing his Diploma thesis with the Fraunhofer institute for microelectronic circuits and systems in Duisburg he joined the Department of electromechanical construction of the Gerhard Mercator University of Duisburg as researcher and lecturer. In 2010 he received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the “Universitatea Politehnica din Bucureşti” of Bucharest, Romania.
Reiner Götzen enjoys nature photography in his free time, and is the father to three adult children.
